How we work
One crew, one run sheet.
Jolt Crest plans and runs themed evenings and company events on site: casino-style tables, galas, music and colour formats, puzzle and team programmes, and daytime open-air days. We work anywhere in New Zealand from our base in Queenstown.
What we sell is organisation. The programme, the equipment, the crew, the dressing and the timings arrive as one package with one price and one contact. You keep control of the venue, the catering and the guest list, which is where you actually want control.
From the first email to the empty room
Seven steps, and none of them are a surprise.
- 01
Conversation
You tell us the date, the town, the guest numbers and the occasion. We say straight away whether the date is free and whether the format you are looking at fits the group.
- 02
Venue check
We compare your venue against the format requirements: floor area, access, power, ceiling height, set-up window. If it does not fit, we say so and offer a format that does.
- 03
Written quote
One total, including GST, with the package contents listed line by line and the exclusions named rather than implied.
- 04
Agreement and date
The date is held when the quote is confirmed in writing and the agreement is signed, with a deposit of 20-40% once the agreement is signed, with the balance due 5-10 days before the event.
- 05
Preparation
Crew booked, equipment allocated, your artwork to print, and the run sheet written around your speeches. We talk to your venue directly about access and power.
- 06
The event
We arrive up to 3 hours early and build the room. Your coordinator runs the timings on the night and makes the calls when dinner runs late.
- 07
Pack-down and close
De-rig starts after your guests leave and finishes within 1-2 hours. The venue is handed back as we found it, and the invoice carries no items you have not already seen.
How we behave
Five things we hold to.
-
One contact
One coordinator owns your event from the first email to the de-rig. You do not get handed between a salesperson, a planner and a crew chief.
-
Scope visible before you order
Every format lists its contents, its limits and its venue requirements on this site, before you talk to us. The quote adds a total, not new information.
-
Taking part is voluntary
Hosts invite, explain and move on. Nobody is pushed into an activity, and there is always somewhere in the room to sit and talk instead.
-
Adults only on evening programmes
Admission to our evening programmes is 20+ and over. Family Day is the one daytime format built for families, and adult-only elements are never combined with it.
-
Conditions in writing
Dates, totals, inclusions and cancellation terms are confirmed in writing. Nothing important about your event lives only in a phone call.
Who turns up
The roles on a run sheet.
Crew is allocated per format - the format listing tells you how many of each role is included and for how long. We do not name individuals in advance, because the person on the night is the person who is actually free on the night.
Compere / host
Holds the microphone and the running order. Makes the announcements, introduces your speakers and keeps the evening moving without becoming the entertainment.
Croupier-hosts
One per table on the casino-style formats. Teach the activity, run the table and keep the pace conversational.
Activity hosts and facilitators
Run stations, rotations and rounds on the team, puzzle and open-air formats. Explain once, clearly, then let people get on with it.
DJ
Works from a brief you set, with your must-plays and do-not-plays. Reads the room for the rest.
AV technician
Sound, screens and lighting desk on the formats that need one. Tests your file during set-up, not at 19:00.
Coordinator
Your single contact. On site from the start of set-up to the end of pack-down, holding the run sheet and the site plan.
Where our job ends
What we bring. What the venue brings.
Included in the price
- The programme, team and equipment listed with the format
- Planning, run sheet and on-site coordination
- Transport anywhere in New Zealand
- Set-up and pack-down outside the programme hours
- GST
Organised by you
- Venue hire, including furniture, power and bathrooms
- Catering and drinks
- Accommodation for your guests
- Gifts for guests
- A photographer or videographer
Programme hours are guest-facing hours: set-up takes up to 3 hours before the event, pack-down up to 1-2 hours after it. That time is paid for in the package, but it is additional to the hours your guests see.
How the casino-style formats work
Themed entertainment. Not gambling.
This matters enough to say plainly, in one place, rather than in small print.
- Everything happens offline, at a venue you choose. There is no online casino and no play over the internet.
- Chips and points are symbolic props. They carry no denomination and no value.
- Chips cannot be bought and cannot be topped up during the evening.
- There are no stakes of money or goods, and no cash winnings.
- Nothing - chips, points or results - is exchanged for money, vouchers, goods or prizes of value.
- Admission to the programme is 20+ only.
- You are paying us to organise an evening, not to run a game.
Shall we check your date?
Send us the date, the town and roughly how many guests. We will tell you whether the date is free and what the package would cost, in writing. An enquiry does not reserve a date.
